A Bit about Chamois
Chamois is a town of 456 people, founded 150 years ago. It is located along the
Missouri River just 24 miles west of Hermann, and 45 minutes east of the state capital
in Jefferson City. We have a beautiful riverside park with picnic facilities, playground,
ball field and a Missouri Conservation concrete boat ramp. Fishing on the big Missouri
River is terrific. Go after those giant world class catfish or any number of other
great game fish. Fishing guide service is available, advance reservations required.
There is a restaurant right next door. Come back to a town where the kids still
play outside and ride bikes, and the neighbors wave to each other and to strangers
going by. Chamois is a taste of yesteryear.
